Today I present you guys another song that was sampled in the 90s. This track is the basis for Ice Cubes’ hit: It Was A Good Day. But the lush guitar rhythm that makes this song so iconic was written by The Isley Brothers. Footsteps in the Dark, as it is called, is just as groovy. Bluesy, mellow vocals replace the iconic rap parts by Ice Cube. Footsteps in the Dark is a bit slower as well. It is a shame that it is often overlooked because it was sampled. I have to give credit to the guitar lick as well. It is a tiny part of the song, but it has so much tone. I would recommend Footsteps in the Dark to anyone.
